There is nothing like fly fishing from a drift boat. Sitting up high, flowing with the current, and casting into the eddies as you float by is thrilling and rewarding. Suitable for one or two anglers per boat, beginner or advanced. We run the famous Petawawa, Madawaska and Ottawa Rivers, targeting plentiful and aggressive smallmouth bass. Our specialty.
Ice out in April until early June and again in September is fly fishing season in Algonquin Park. Native Algonquin brook trout are a special fish, and the Park has the greatest concentration of brook trout fishing in the south. We offer adventurous day trips that are off the beaten path - no crowds, good fish, but some work to get there. If it was easy wouldn't everyone go there?
Jeff Jackson, Ph.D., is a career guide and owner operator of Algonquin Fly Fishing. He is a certified angling guide and has worked on rivers from the Yukon to Utah.
