As each trip is customized for you, the pace of fishing will be adjusted to meet your needs. (Lunch is not included on our Algonquin Park brook trout adventures).
Guide gratuity is not included in the price, and typically in the range of 20% of your package price.
Anglers must have an Ontario fishing license. Purchase either a one day license (no Ontario Outdoors Card required) or an annual license; for non-Canadian visitors purchase your license at this link.
We fish rain or shine. We may have to move our fishing location on short notice to accommodate water levels, wind, or impending weather. Severe weather, extreme heat, or air quality warnings due to forest fire smoke may require modification or postponement of our day based upon public health warnings - we will discuss such measures with you in advance. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds or compensate for costs incurred for weather affected days, but will happily transfer to any future date.
We can give you good advice for where to head for dinner and overnight accommodation (from rustic to luxury). We can set you up with whatever you need.
Upon booking, we will provide you with a list of clothing and items to bring, directions to our meeting location, a waiver form to sign, and all other relevant details.
We are a dedicated catch and release guide service.
Algonquin Fly Fishing respectfully acknowledges that it's name is derived from Algonquin Park and the Algonquin region, the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin People.
Once we have a plan, a deposit of 50% is required to confirm your booking (via credit card or email transfer). This deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to any other future date with more than 30 days notice. Less than 30 days notice forfeits the deposit (unless the day can be filled from our waitlist, in which case your deposit carries to a future date again!). Gift certificates can be applied to any open date; gift certificate date changes within 30 days forfeits 50% of the gift certificate value as if it were the deposit on that date.
Our dates are in high demand, and know that since summer 2020 we have 100% sold out every fishing day! If we don't have an open date for you, we will be happy to put you on our wait list to take advantage of any new dates that open up.
The remainder of your fee is due or charged to your credit card 5 days before your fishing date. This remainder fee is non-refundable if for some reason you are unable to make your fishing date. Ontario HST (13%) is added to all rates.
As career guides, we take your safety very seriously. We go to great lengths to manage the hazards inherent in lake fishing, wading rivers, and floating whitewater, but these risks cannot be completely eliminated. We expect guests to be active players in managing their own safety. We expect guests to follow their guides’ direction at all times, and to wear a life jacket while in a boat and when directed to by the guide. A briefing at the start of every fishing day lays out expectations regarding safety.
Guests will have to sign a liability release before joining an Algonquin Fly Fishing excursion, which can be previewed at the yellow tab below.
